CT Abd Panc.Abscess drain

Technique: Helical CT of the abdomen/pelvis after administration of IV and oral contrast. Axial images were obtained with coronal and sagittal reformations. Renal delay images were also obtained. Findings: There has been continued reduction in size of the loculated fluid collection within the pancreatic body. It now measures 3.4 x 2.3 cm (previously 4.1 x 2.3 cm). There is a percutaneous drain through the ventral abdomen into this loculated fluid collection, unchanged in position since the prior study. There has also been interval decrease in size of a small fluid collection at the distal end of the pancreas. The biliary and pancreatic ductal stents are unchanged in position from the prior study. There are postsurgical changes from a prior cholecystectomy. IMPRESSION: 1. Interval reduction of pancreatic abscess. 2. Decreasing right pleural effusion.
