Scaphoid fx

Most common carpal fx, waist 70%, proximal pole 20%, distal pole 10%, blood supply through the waist --> proximal pole nonunion and osteonecrosis, if radiographically occult get thin-section CT, MRI or bone scan


Triquetrum fx

Dorsal avulsion at radiocarpal ligament attachment, lateral view


Pisiform fx

Fragment volarly to carpus on lateral view


Hamate fx

Hook of hamate fx, tomography, carpal tunnel view or CT


Kienbock disease

Lunate malacia: AVN due to minor trauma, assoc. w/ ulnar minus variant
